We're assuming that you've already set up and installed something you want to stream, but if you haven't, here's a quick guide on installing Valve's Steam platform to get you started.

  1. Go to https://store.steampowered.com/ in your favorite browser. Click on Install Steam.
  2. Click on Install Steam Now. This will start to download the installer file that will be placed in downloads on your Mac.
  3. Navigate to your downloads and double-click steam.dmg. Agree to the terms of service.
  4. Drag Steam to the Applications folder.
  5. Launch Steam and allow it to update. Log in to your account or create a new Steam account. (If you are new to Steam, check out the store and get some awesome games. Many are even free!)
  6. Start the game you want to stream. In this instance we are using Middle-earth:Shadow of Mordor to broadcast.
  7. Press Alt-Tab on your keyboard to get out of the game to your desktop.

Install Gameshow

  1. Using Safari, navigate to **http://gameshow.net. **
  2. Download the Free Version or Buy Now. You can always purchase a key through the free version later.
  3. Double-click the Gameshow.dmg file in your Downloads folder in Finder.
  4. Click Agree on the license agreement.

  5. Drag the Gameshow Icon to the Applications folder.

  6. Once installed, start the Gameshow app.
  7. Click Open if prompted with a warning dialog box to open an application downloaded from the internet.

  8. Optionally choose to Send or Don't Send diagnostic usage information to the developers of Gameshow.

  9. Read the release notes and click Next.

  10. Optionally choose to Register or Skip the registration of Gameshow.

  11. Optionally choose to view the Getting Started and Tutorials videos.
  12. Click Start Streaming.
  13. Select a Template or Build Your Own layout to stream.

  14. Click Next. We chose to build our own Game + Cam.

  15. Select to Stream To: Twitch.

  16. Enter your Game Title.

  17. Select the type of Encoder you wish to use. We left this as default.

  18. Select the Encoder Settings. We left this as default.

  19. Select your closest Twitch Server to stream to.
  20. Click Next.
  21. Select your Game Process. Our game process that we Alt-Tabbed out of previously is called Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
  22. Select your Camera.
  23. Select your Microphone.

  24. Click Next.

  25. You'll now be asked to Log In or Sign Up for Twitch. You can create a new account from within the Gameshow app.

  26. Click Next.

  27. You'll be prompted to install the Telestream Audio Capture Driver. Click OK.
  28. Click Continue.
  29. Click Install.
  30. Enter your password and click Install Software.

  31. Click Close when the driver installation is complete.

  32. Set up your broadcast screen and Preview it.

  33. When ready, click the Stream button.

You're online!!!

Twitch Prime includes a number of freebies each month as part of your membership with the service. Free games and exclusive in-game content can be downloaded from the site, and here’s how you can access that content.

Step 1: Download the Twitch App for Desktop

The Desktop App for Twitch runs a similar interface to the web version of the site ,but it will allow you to claim games and other items that are included in your Twitch Prime account. Right now the way that claiming Twitch Prime loot and games is set-up requires that you have access to both the Twitch website and Desktop App.

Step 2: Visit The Twitch Website and click on the Prime Loot Icon (Looks like a crown)

This will open a drop-down icon that will show you all of the available items you can download. You can then “Claim” your free games from here.

Step 3: Once you’ve claimed a game on the website head back into the Desktop App to download and install the game.

After you’ve claimed a game on the Twitch website you can then head back to the Desktop App to download and install the game. This will use the Twitch game installer and launcher to install and then play the game.

Once you’ve built a library of games you can play them at any time by using the Desktop App and searching on the tab “My Games.” This will show you both the games that you’ve claimed and the games that you have installed.
