Hello everyone, how are you all doing today? I hope you are all having a great day so far. My day is going quite well, could be better but I can’t really complain, well you know what I WILL complain. Two days ago a so called “family friend” who no us of have ever seen or heard of just arrived at our doorstep and decided he will stay here for like 2 weeks. Only issue is he is an alcoholic, he is drunk on the couch as I type this. Yes, seriously, it really does have fun strategy games. We are not in 2008 anymore and the major game developers have started to port or convert their games over to Apple’s OS X in huge numbers. You can now play many of the very popular Windows Games on your Mac without much of a difference. The Steam engine has further stepped up the gaming on Macs and it is great. Look at my list of the best strategy games below, download the game and enjoy them.

Company of Heroes 2: The British Forces is the latest entry in the series and features this iconic Allied army from WWII (UKF). Experience a unique tech-tree that challenges the player to balance the constant trade-off between mobility and defense. Surprise your opponents with your development choices and an open end game configuration. Enjoy an army with character and distinctive units & abilities, from the Churchill Crocodile flamethrower tank to the RAF glider.

This game is a must have. I remember playing Company of Heroes 1(the original) on PC and it was one of my favorite games, this is way back in 2009 or so. I just started playing CH2 and so far, I f’n love it.

This game could have been and probably should have been #1 on our list but #2 isn’t so bad. This game does have almost a perfect rating in terms of reviews so it is as good as people say it is, trust me. I have it for Mac and I play it at least 3 times a week.

This game is better than it looks, trust me on that. It’s awesome, especially if you like tycoon, simulation type games. It’s like Sims but relating more so to running a medicine company. Put it this way, it’s better than it sounds, just try it.

BattleShip The Beginning is a classic naval strategy board and cannon shooting game for all the family, where you have to seek out and then sink hidden enemy ships before they destroy all of yours (You play play against the computer). Set back in the 1600’s at the end of the golden age of piracy, this rustic game is a welcome treat with superb modern graphics and sound effects. It’s a full-on, explosive battle at sea, where only the most calculating and determined side will prevail!
In order to win this game, you need to outwit the enemy using your superb tactical warfare skills! OK, sound the trumpet, let’s go to war skipper! Your job is to annihilate the hidden enemy fleet – blast them out of the water. The first side to destroy all of the opponent’s fleet wins! The enemy ships are hidden, so you have to estimate or predict where they might have strategically placed themselves. Once you get a hit (on part of their ship), you have a clearer picture of where the rest of the ship might be hidden and how they are positioned (vertically or horizontally). Now you’re getting closer to victory!
Once you get a hit, you get another free turn. Think hard before you fire your cannon balls. Don’t waste shots! Try aiming for squares 4/5 distances apart in order to more quickly locate the positions of your opponent’s ships. They won’t all be located in one part of the grid! OK officer, ready for some all-action adventures on the high seas? Good luck, think ahead and don’t lose! Aye Aye Captain!

How To Play: First you need to have a look at the ships and their capabilities. Hover your computer mouse over the fleet on the right hand side of the game screen and you will see all the information. Now you need to deploy your ships. Use your computer mouse to manually click & drag your battleships onto the grid or else use the “Auto Deployment feature on the right hand side of the game screen. You can change the position of your ship by dragging it to the edge of the grid map or by clicking on it with your mouse. Ships cannot touch each other or be deployed near the islands.

Once you’re ready to begin, click on “Start” at the bottom of the game screen. You can now see how many enemy ships you have left (in ship icons) in the bottom area. When a square on the grid is used up, it turns to a faded blue color. At the start of each new game, you can see the amount of virtual money have at the top of the game screen and you can now use the shop in the lower right corner of the game screen to buy available weapons. At the end of each game, you can see the amount of ships you have sunk, your firing accuracy (percentage), total virtual money earned and your rank as a shipman. Go Admiral!
